You are welcome to come by yourself, with a hoa/friend or whānau member - whatever feels best for you. Our doctors, nurse practitioner and nurse services at our Ostend Medical Centre offer non-judgmental advice and support without making it weird and with full confidentiality.

Mental health and wellbeing
Even successful young Kiwis like Lorde have talked about how it's totally normal to struggle with your mental health, it doesn’t say anything negative about you, it makes you human. There is a lot of support available for you right here on Waiheke including advice and strategies to help you, a whānau member or a friend manage the following:
Stress and anxiety
Health and wellbeing to support your mental health, including better sleep
Addiction
Navigating relationship and sexuality challenges
Eating disorders, healthy eating habits and nutrition advice
Bullying
Self harm
Living with violence or physical, sexual or emotional abuse
If you’re referred to our Health Improvement Practitioner or Health Coach (ages 18 and up for the Health Coach), your appointment will be completely free.

Diet, Kai / Food - Nutrition Advice and support
Need some support around good eating habits? You'll work with someone who understands that eating can be complicated, especially as a teenager. They'll help you figure out what works best for your body and lifestyle, without judgment.
We specialise in supporting teens and whānau/families who are dealing with things like:
Food allergies or intolerances, including coeliac disease (can't eat gluten)
Concerns about weight (gaining or losing)
Disordered eating - including struggles with anorexia, bulimia and binge eating
Being a picky eater or having trouble with certain foods
Stomach issues like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Problems with eating that are affecting your health or daily life
Your doctor or nurse practitioner can refer you to see this service.
We accept referrals directly from people who need our services, their whānau, health professionals, and other support providers. Fill in a referral form or call to discuss your needs.
Social worker
Everyone needs someone in their corner. Our social worker is here to help you and your whānau/family work through tough situations. They focus on what you're already good at and help you make positive changes for your future.

X-ray and ultrasound
Need an x-ray or ultrasound? Good news, you don't have to leave the island - we've got you covered right here at the Waiheke Health Trust in Ostend. No more stressing about missing school or dealing with ferry, bus and train times to get to an appointment.
Our services include:
X-rays - for things like checking if bones are broken, looking at your chest, or other medical issues
Ultrasounds - for checking soft tissues, organs, or monitoring pregnancies
Access is for anyone living on Waiheke and even includes your friends if they are visiting the island, however you'll need a referral from your doctor or medical centre first.
Don’t let money be a barrier in getting to the bottom of your pain, there may be options open to you including funding through Access to Diagnostics, ACC or the Jassy Dean Trust - just ask us when you book.
